I agree, but this course of action also works for others, people using religious and political ideologies being the main ones I think of. With many people still being lazy-minded because it's what our society fosters and not actually thinking for themselves and using reason and logic to make an informed decision, this is why I worry.
I really hope that the "information age and easy access to verifiable data" lasts, because what I see is many people having the world at their finger tips and not using it for education but for banal rubbish. I also see many western Governments limiting the access and freedoms to certain sites and info, which is in essence them trying to regulate what we can see. I know they couldn't fully regulate normal info like we speak of currently, but look what they've done to TV and radio (And even in some schools and libraries in the USA and elsewhere) it's a taste of what could happen to the net if they manage to regulate it in someway.
I'm not saying it's going to happen, but it's a strong possibility from what I've recently seen and in the past to other forms of tech that distributes information. Which is what worries a lot.
Sorry for replying here, thought it would be apt to reply to this poster with my comment. Hope you don't mind.
No problem at all, and I certainly can't disagree with anything you said. I think the difference between our movement and religious ones is that the data almost ALWAYS supports us rather than them, but it doesn't stop them having a massive impact.
As for governments censoring the web, I agree that they will try, but it wont be as easy as they think.
The recent ACTA proposal that everybody got worked up over was going to use software to stop your computer recognizing the web address that they didn't want you to see. It wouldn't have worked though, the software to route around it is almost pathetically easy to make.

Yesterday I thought he could be an inspiration for you. He has much more with this theme... Have put some things from him in the atheist groups, you surely know.

you know, I read on wikipedia that atheists are the most harshly discriminated against, even in light of homosexuals... most people described them as immoral, bitter, and all these awful things that I can't remember... Yet they're the "persecuted" ones. *eye roll* XD
