The painting itself is good, but meaning behind is poor. Reason is what one want to see as reason. "Reasonable" differs itself with each person. To some people, "Vigilant Christian" Mario is very reasonable.
Also, I simply don't grasp, how you included legend like Nietzsche, along with some second rate comedians, few popular scientists (who in my personal opinion aren't that smart to begin with)....instead of someone more suitable.

This was a personal opinion on people that had inspired the original author. They were his personal champions of reason. As such it was a subjective choice of name.

You speak of this author in third person. Is he hiding somewhere, or you have to drink some kind of potion to bring him up? :D Because I an my several personalities would like to meet him.

If you take a look at the description to this photo you can find a link to the original artist. I dunno if he still talks to people so much on the original thread, it is several years old now, but he did spend a lot of time talking to people for a while.

Love that Christopher Hitchens is front and center.  By far my favorite and most listened to reasoners.

I Like it, at the same time it shows two issues we have, the lack of minorities and the lack of women

Well if either of them had something interesting to say on the matter, we would listen to them.

That is absolutely not true, the problem is that minorities and women find it much harder to gain media attention, take a look at Malala Yousafzai She has spent a great deal of time fighting for reason and education for women in Islamic countries. She believes so strongly in education she continued going to school in the face of death threats from the Taliban and ended up getting shot in the head for her trouble. Actually read or listen to some of the things that she says and you will find she is both a passionate and well spoken promoter of reason and education, yet she gets very little media attention apart from when she is at the forefront of some other televised event.

Your opinion is terrible, just because you don't personally know of any minority people promoting reason doesn't mean they don't exist. Take a look at Dr. Martin Luther King, going all the way through to Chris Rock.

No he had money and media attention. He was a white male person of blue blood background with an education most people can only dream of. Other people are just as good in a debate, know just as much about their specific subject material and are just as capable of eloquently stating their case. Unfortunately they don't have the money or contacts to get into a widely publicised debate, or print their own book. In fact Christopher Hitchens himself said very often that the only real cure for many of the worlds ills is the empowerment of women. He wasn't wrong either.

Good. We should make a meme of him and post it sporadically, wherever he somehow isn't already, around the internet, to further his omnipresent state.

not a criticism, but are there many noteworthy women champions of reason? I don't of too many of them.

There certainly are, although they have a much harder time getting publicity than their male counterparts. I can't think of any off the top of my head apart from the dead ones, like Ada Lovelace.

This is not my work of art and you can find a link in the description. I believe he has answered many similar questions to yours in the comments on his pictures.
