Right, but he is all powerful, this means he is fully capable of creating a universe where we make our own choices, come to him or not, and yet we do not have suffering, where there is no such thing as hell, if god was truly all forgiving and truly merciful, why would hell exist at all? Why didn't he create limbo, and simply let people who did not choose him go there? Why make a place that tortures them for an immortals lifetime, for a mortals misdeeds?
I'm with House on this one. If G existed at all, he's longed abandoned us. Why? Turn on the news and watch it for five minutes. You'll realize the same thing G did. The human race is f##ked and it's our own damn fault.
Scientifically and socially, we are evolving. There are only two ways forward, we are either going to destroy ourselves, or we will improve, and things like the new social acceptance of gays throughout the western world meant hat we are definitely improving as a society.
Yes there are many setbacks, and there always will be, but things are incredibly better than they were 100 years ago, and I honestly believe the rate of change is getting faster as social media brings people of disparate backgrounds together so that they can share their experiences.
I really do think things are getting better, its just harder to see on a personal level.
Isn't that just a rehash of what Epicureas said in 'Why call him God?' Which I totally recanted to my sister, a moderate atheist (moderate in her general indifference to the public's dalliance in some form of invisible santa) and she was captivated. She thought it was a fascinating riddle.
True. I think if god or Jesus or who ever they call him is real than why don`t he stop a.i.ds, cancer, child abuse, animal abuse, why not stop people from killing each other and other bad things that are happening? Because to me he isn`t real. Also since they say we are his kids then why don`t he hang out with me, why don`t he call me, why can`t I see him and I dont want to hear how I gotta wait to die to see him.
